Five competitors from the Crymych Panthers Boccia club participated in the recent Welsh National Boccia Championships.
The weekend event took place at the Welsh National Sports Centre Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Sian Jones from Crymych Panthers came third in the BC2 category, which qualifies her for the British Nationals in Guildford in July.
Team-mate Jacob Thomas came first in the BC3 category, winning all five of his games convincingly. This was a great performance as it was his first competition after a spell of ill health, and he now also qualifies for the British Nationals.
In the BC8 category, fellow Panthers Ben Couceiro came fourth, Dewi Evans, eighth and Yvonne Berry 10th. It was Yvonne’s first competitive game of singles.
Angela Miles, the Disability Sport officer for Pembrokeshire, said: “It was great to have five players form Pembrokeshire competing at the nationals to such a high standard.”
