Whitland are certainly racking up the runs this year and Saturday was no exception as they gained a winning draw at Llanrhian (conquerors of leaders Neyland the last time they played). The Borderers reached 210-7 from their 45 overs as Owain Evans top scored with 46. Scott Newton was also in the runs before taking 3-32 following an unbeaten 35. In reply, Llanrhian hung on to score 161-9 after David Dunfee's return to the club following a two-week hiatus at Pembroke Dock resulted in him taking 4-55. At Haverfordwest, an indifferent batting performance by Narberth saw them well beaten by the home side after they bundled out the opposition for 111. Only Richie Adams troubled the scorers much, hitting 17 in the disappointing total. The home team passed this for the loss of four wickets, with Ian Hughes taking three of them and Sean Coaker the other. Match of the day was at Carew where the home side entertained Cresselly. The visitors batted first and scored 198-6 thanks to Phil Williams's 44, Mike Shaw's unbeaten 41 and debutant Brad Jenkins's 53. Sean Whitfield and Ceri Brace both took a brace of wickets In reply, young Tom Murphy steamed in to take 4-47 as the home side closed on 187-7 after Nic Scourfield scored 67 and Simon Wood, having returned to the club from Saundersfoot in the week, scored 73. Carew's gain was certainly felt by Wood's former club as they stumbled to a humbling defeat at the hands of Neyland who bowled out the Seasiders for just 64. The league leaders knocked off the runs for the loss of four wickets, with Neil Powling taking 3-18. At Lawrenny, the home side were beaten by St. Ishmaels by seven wickets after being bowled out for 161. Huw Griffiths top scored with 40 for the home team, while Joe Kidney scored 22. Tish eased to victory for the loss of three wickets with Robert Williams taking two of them Biggest win of the day and perhaps in the history of Pembrokeshire cricket was at Whitland; unfortunately it wasn't the home team that secured it as Johnston beat them by 318 runs. The Tigers roared to 362-4, with Steve Mills slamming 162 not out and Lee Summons 89. In reply, Whitland seconds were all out for 44. Cresselly seconds put one over their rivals from Carew with a five-wicket win, bowling out the away team for 138 for whom Chris Coles scored 39 and Bevan 31 after Ryan Lewis took 3-20 and Sam Harts 3-21. In reply, the home team had few issues knocking off the runs as Neal Williams struck 49 and Alex Bailey 31 The top-of-the-table clash between Lamphey and Kilgetty in division three went the way of the Kingsmoor outfit as they bowled out the home side for 61. Spin twins Toby Poole and Kurtis Marsh bamboozled the opposition, taking 3-16 and 6-25, respectively, while Marsh was also in the runs, hitting 16, before big brother Jake saw them home for the loss of three wickets with an unbeaten 18. Narberth seconds did well to hang on for a draw against Herbrandston, who batted first and scored 195-9 after Liam Phillips took 3-27. The home side closed on 178-9, with Owen Richards scoring 39 and Sam Mills 28. Derby day bragging rights went to Pembroke Dock after they beat Stackpole away by four wickets. The home team batted first and struggled against Nick Daley, who took 4-25, reaching 171-7 as Richard McKay hit 65 not out, but an unbeaten 68 by Peter Kingdom and 62 by Luke Murray saw the Dock home. In division four, Carew thirds lost by four wickets against Haverfordwest thirds after they were all out for 93. Only Jacob Knox with 36 succeeded against the home side as they won the game for the loss of six batsmen. Leaders Hundleton succumbed to a surprise defeat at the hands of Johnston seconds who batted first and scored 161-8; Paul Price taking three wickets. In reply, Scott Richards hit 45 and Paul Edwards 38, but they were all out for 121 against the accurate home team attack. It was a good day for Lawrenny seconds, though, as they won by eight wickets at Hook after bowling the home side out for 129. Ivan Lewenski was the chief wicket-taker with a 3-46 haul, before an unbeaten 43 by Barry Phillips saw the Gavenyards home. In division five, Narberth seconds beat Pembroke seconds with ease, despite only scoring 81 themselves thanks to Huw Simpkins's 29. In reply, Pembroke were never in the hunt after Sean Thomas took 7-18, being bowled out for 32. Earlier, Nigel Phillips took 4-17 and Simon Smith Wrench 3-25.   Cresselly thirds had a good day at home to Haverfordwest fourths with a two-wicket win after the home side chased down the visitors' 165 all out. Selwyn Cole led the way with 50, while Lyn Richards scored 32 after Megan Jenkins and Tom Kinear earlier took three wickets apiece. Hundleton seconds drew with their counterparts from Llanrhian as they finished up on 138-5 in reply to the away team's 160-5. Dean Williams took 2-37 in Llanrhian's total, while Paul Walkey struck 30 and Steve Williams 26 in the home team's reply. Pembroke Dock's Maurice Leyland is without doubt one of the finest curators in the county and this reputation was certainly enhanced on Saturday after Stackpole seconds racked up the runs, hitting 241-7 against the home team who could only draw in chasing the total, finishing on 192-3. Richard Simon led the way for the visitors, smashing a magnificent 153 not out, while Gethin Brown struck 22 not out and Marcus Adie 21. For the Dock, John Davies scored 59, Mal Morris 36 and Richard Scourfield an unbeaten 33. At Kilgetty, the home team seconds ensured it was a day of doubles over Lamphey after they overcame the away team's 138 all out to win by five wickets. Jack Tucker's unbeaten 50 and Adam Joseph's 72 secured the win , with Tucker the undoubted man-of-the-match after his early 2-9 haul. For Lamphey, Cyle Weatherall hit 73 and Ben McDonell 29 after John Mathias had earlier taken 2-23.
