Carew came within a whisker of winning and losing at home to Cresselly, yet settled for a draw after finishing their innings just nine runs shy of victory with nine wickets down.
Chasing an imposing 239 for victory after Cresselly scored 238-8 thanks to contributions from Mathew Morgan who scored 43 and a brilliant 108 for skipper Phil Williams (which included four 6s and eight 4s), the home side made a good fist of it as Tim Hicks hit an enterprising 77, while James Hinchliffe scored 40. Those two put on 77 for the fifth wicket and Tom Davies hit 32 after Sam Harts took 5-40 and Ryan Lewis 2-49.
For Carew, Tom Davies took 3-58 and Tim Hicks 3-61.
Whitland narrowly avoided losing at home to Lawrenny after they closed on 169-9 in reply to the visitors' 201-9.
The Borderers, shorn of confidence after a fallow month or so, would have slipped a place below their opponents to linger just above the relegation zone had they failed to draw and credit must got to Steffan James who not only scored 50 for the home side, but took 2-23 as well.
In the Lawrenny innings, Dan James also bowled well to take 3-44.
For Lawrenny, Phil Cole struck 45, Andrew Cole 35 and Joe Kidney 27, while Brad Jenkins took 4-32 and Steve Lewis 3-29.
Steffan's innings apart, only John Thomas with 29 and Paul Davies with 23 got to grips with the visiting bowlers.
Narberth had an excellent win at home against St Ishmaels after bowling the visitors out for 99 thanks to Ian Hughes's 3-12, Wayne Howells's 3-19 and Ben Quartermaine's 3-24
The home side then romped to victory, losing just two wickets as Richie Adams hit an unbeaten 61 and Mike Scale 17 not out.
In division two, Whitland seconds lost at Johnston, who held the Borderers' second string to 105-9 off 45 overs. Paul Webb scored an unbeaten 31 for the visitors, with Mathew Davies scoring 19.
In reply, the home side lost just two wickets in reaching 106-2 to seal the win.
Lamphey gained their second win of the season after a fine four-wicket win over Burton.
The visitors batted first and found life difficult against Stephen Vale and Dave Blackwell, who took 2-22 apiece, while Neil Powling took 2-55 as they were eventually all out for 135.
In reply, Peter McGilloway showed great patience for his 54, while skipper Nick Shelmerdine struck a fluent 41 not out to seal the win.
Carew seconds' miserable season continued as they lost their ninth game of the season after going down by nine wickets at Cresselly.
The visitors were all out for 98 as Lyn Richards took 4-24 and Richard Harris 3-7.
Harris was on fire with the bat, striking an unbeaten 50, while Harry Thomas scored 26 as they raced to a win.
Stackpole scrabbled to their first win of the season after they bowled out Haverfordwest seconds for 116 in reply to the home team's 141-9.
John Willington scored an unbeaten 26 for the home side, while Chris Brown took 5-32 as the Town crumbled.
Saundersfoot were crowned champions after another magnificent win as they demolished Pembroke by eight wickets.
The home side batted first and scored 127 all out thanks to Luke Butler's 26 and Andrew Hay's 19 after James Caine took 5-41 and brother Danny, 3-25.
In reply, Paul Mansbridge hit 43 and Phil Jones 44 not out.
Jake Griffiths hit a brilliant 80, Luc Barford 37 and Luke Murray 43 not out as Pembroke Dock scored 228-5 against Crymych.
The mountain men only lost two wickets in reply, but could only muster 182 as they settled for a draw.
Saundersfoot seconds lost to Hook after being bowled out for 110, with Mike Franklin top scoring on 38 as the visitors eased to a five wicket win, while Narberth seconds had a good result away at Herbrandston as they almost pulled off what would have been their fifth win of the season.
Batting first, Narberth were indebted to Dan Hughes's 35, Owen Richards's 42 and Mike Williams's 24 for their 154-7, while they reduced the home side to 137-9 in reply.
Williams was also on form with the ball, taking 3-40, while Richard Howell took 3-14 and Nick Evans 2-19.
Kilgetty's teenage fast bowling sensation Tom Murphy was the hero of the day for them as the towering teenager took 6-10 to help them defeat Hook seconds.
The village side was bundled out for 83 as Ross Hardy also claimed 3-23.
Hardy was in form with the bat, too, hitting 43, while Kurtis Marsh struck 18 as the visitors gained a seven-wicket win.
St Clears were on fire with the bat as they struck 212-2 against Lawrenny, with Robert Morgan smashing an unbeaten 103 while Andrew Edwards hit 72.
Edwards also claimed 5-29 in the home team's reply, while Craig Holland chipped in with 3-35 as the home team hung on for a draw.
For Lawrenny, Chris Buckle scored 34, Stuart Prosser 22 and Adrian Harries 21.
Cresselly thirds hung on for a draw at Burton after the home side scored 236-4. The visitors scored 142-9 in reply, with Richard Arthur hitting 60 not out.
Carew thirds lost to Haverfordwest thirds. Batting first, Carew hit 157-7 in their allotted overs, with Jeremy Griffiths scoring 40 and Greg Morris 35 not out. The visitors limped to 158-8 in reply, with Morris taking 3-16.
Narberth thirds had a day to forget at home to Pembroke seconds after they were bowled out for 93 in reply to the away team's 110 all out. The only batsman to hit a score of note was Kevin James, who struck 26.
It had looked more promising earlier on as Dan Hughes junior steamed in to take 5-19 and Liam Phillips 2-29, but poor batting in the reply let them down.
Hundleton are all but crowned champions after winning at home to Camrose and Spittal seconds.
The visitors were all out for 80 thanks to Chris Stapleton and Ben Adams sharing five wickets, while Stapleton hit 23 in the reply.
Pembroke Dock seconds drew at St. Ishmaels after settling for 142-9 in reply to the home team's 248-5. Chris Boyett hit 31 for the visitors, while John Hay took 3-73.
Meanwhile, Stackpole seconds went down at Llanrhian after being bowled out for 116 in reply to the home side's 133. Dan James took 5-23 for the visitors, while Hugh Mason scored 22 and Phil Tallett 20.
In division six, Kilgetty seconds lost at home to Llechryd seconds after they were all out for 106. Mike May hit 20 for the home side, but no other batsmen could get going.
Llechryd lost four wickets in reaching the target.
Meanwhile, Whitland thirds had an excellent win at home to Hundleton seconds after they batted first and scored 172 all out thanks to Owain Evans's magnificent 97 and Hefin Thomas's 22. The visitors were then bowled out for 67 as Thomas took 2-19, Barry Rees 3-6 and Jack Bowen 3-21.
