The first training session for St. Florence girls AFC began last Thursday which was a huge success.

A turnout of almost 30 girls was great to see for the coaches, Geraint Jones, Gareth Dewhurst, Carrie Slack and Anne-Marie Allen. They welcomed girls between the ages of seven and 14, some who have played before, as well as girls who were experiencing football for the first time.

St. Florence Girls AFC received a generous sponsorship from Manorbier Garden Centre for footballs to enable training to commence. The club is very grateful to Jan and Carl for these.

The club would like to thank everyone for the work they have put in to get this club up and running. Without the support of the local community and parents, it would not be possible. Also, a big thank you to all the local businesses who have also contributed financially.

If you know of any girls aged between seven and 16 who would like to come along to play football, have some fun, learn new skills and build on confidence, training takes place on a Thursday at St. Florence Sports Field, 5-6.30 pm. All abilities are welcome.
