Kilgetty and District Darts League held their end of season presentation night recently, along with the finals of the team 1001 Knock Out.
Simon Egginton (league secretary) welcomed everyone and thanked all who had assisted in running the league during the season. Special thanks were expressed to Brian and Louise Cullen who worked tirelessly preparing the venue and food for the finals and semi-finals.
The 1001 Knock Out shield competition was played prior to the presentation taking place and some excellent darts were thrown. Five teams entered the challenge, with the final being represented by KSSC Red v Whitehorse. The Whitehorse took the first game, with the second game going to KSSC Red; the third and deciding leg was a very close affair, with both teams showing nerves, but with both nearing the double finish, it was the Whitehorse whose nerves held out to win the match 2-1. Both teams played some brilliant darts, with one or two players throwing exceptionally well.
The league’s treasurer, Mrs. Karen Gammon, then proceeded to start the evening’s presentation, assisted by league secretary, Mr. Simon Egginton.

Chairman Mr. Peter Weston closed the evening’s celebrations with a big thank you to all the players who attended the presentation night and who, week after week, turned out during the cold winter months to play darts on a Friday evening.
He said it was the individual members who made the Kilgetty and District Darts a successful and friendly league and he looked forward to seeing all the regular faces, along with new ones, again next season.
He closed the evening by reminding all teams to keep an eye on the local press and look on the website for details of the forthcoming AGM. Should any new team wish to apply to join the Kilgetty and District Darts League 2017-18, they should contact the league secretary direct at Simon Egginton at [email protected]
Would all teams please note the importance of this year’s AGM. If the league is to survive, we need not only the teams who participated this year, but also a couple (as a minimum) of new teams. Anyone interested in joining the Kilgetty and District Darts League for 2017-18 should contact Karen at the email address shown above.
Special mention goes to Brian Cullen who achieved a 13-dart leg in the Landlords Knockout on finals night.
Don’t forget, a lot more relevant details about the league, including how to apply for membership, tables, fixtures and a host of other information, is available 24/7 on our website at https://sites.google.com/site/kilgettydarts/
