Swansea Half Marathon
Last weekend also saw Swansea holding the next edition of the Half Marathon, which starts in the heart of the city and provides a flat fast course running through the heart of the city. It is run on closed roads and passes the floodlights of St. Helen’s rugby ground as you head down towards the Mumbles and its pier and lighthouse. After mile six you turn and head back towards the city along the cycle path, running alongside the sandy beaches of the Swansea Bay.
On the way back you pass the Meridian Tower, which is Wales’ tallest building and then on to the Marina, before heading back to the finish line in the city centre.
The Aces had four members taking part, Max Brewster, Kath Devonald Brace and Emil and Wendy Chwistek, who were running for the Paul Sartori Foundation. Kath had a time of 2:05:42, Emil and Wendy both came in with Pb’s, with Emil in 1:23:31 and Wendy in 1:51:14. Well done all.
