Kilgetty’s Liam Cullen recently picked up League 2 ‘Player of the Month’ for January, capping off a great few weeks after Swansea City handed the twenty-year-old a new deal.

The in-form forward netted 10 goals in all competitions during the first month of the new decade, with four of them coming in two league appearances.

Liam who netted the winner against Stoke before scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 victory over Middlesbrough, becomes the first Swansea player to win the award since Oli McBurnie in January 2017.

The Wales Under-21 international, who has subsequently made two senior appearances from the bench in February, said he was ‘proud’ award which topped off an ‘unbelievable month’ for him.

“Been an unbelievable month for me and this is the perfect way to end it. Thank you everyone for the messages and looking forward to the next two and a half years!” he remarked,

Liam who has been the leading scorer for Swansea’s Under-23 team for the past two seasons, has been tipped as the next young Swan to graduate from the club’s academy, following the likes of Daniel James and Joe Rodon.
