The undefeated Under 13s faced another tough game last weekend against Milford United, who currently top the table as they have played more games than Tenby.
With a couple of players unavailable, Tenby knew it would be a tough game. With both teams keen to stamp their authority and show their dominance, the play was end to end.
However, it was Dylan for Tenby who managed to create the first goal, equalised soon after by Milford.
Both teams were creating chances, but it was a while before Max created the second and third goals, leaving the half-time score at 3-1 to Tenby.
The second half was a much more dogged affair, with chances for both teams. There was only one more goal though, from Jack, which gave Tenby a more comfortable lead and the game ended 4-1 to the home team.
Well done Tenby - Kyle, TJ, Jac, Iori, George, Ethan, Taine, Iori, Jack, Dylan, Max, Lewis, Toby, Leon and Corey.
Tenby Under 15s march on to cup final
The talented Tenby Under 15s faced their nearest rivals Hakin United at the Clicketts in the semi-finals of the cup. Having won every single match this season, they had already secured the league with ease and still a match to play. They also recently beat a decent Under 16s Pontardulais team in the Welsh Cup.
From the start, the seasiders looked sharp and Callum Karaka was first to show his pace with a lovely run from midfield and soon again he was testing the Hakin defence as he supplied a great cross to Archie Smith who struck a decent shot just over.
Jack Jones up front was his tricky usual nuisance and provided a good ball for Michael Davies, who pushed from midfield and watched the Hakin ’keeper deny him a rare goal.
Soon the homesters took the lead, though, from a free-kick taken by the Engine, Iori Humpries, and finished in style by with a lovely header by Jack.
Hakin continued to press the home defence, but Tenby furthered their lead with a fantastic solo effort by the ever-busy William Malone for a two-up advantage.
Dylan Morgan was making his usual lightning bolt runs down the right flank, but was being well marked by his opponent. Archie on the opposite side had the next decent chance but hit the beans.
Tenby looked determined to bag another and from a corner taken by Iori they nearly did, but Charlie Gregory rose from the far post and just headed over.
The seasiders’ defence was facing a decent amount of pressure, but Iori, Charlie, Teejay Gardner and Ned Davies (pictured) in particular were having none of it.
Tenby again were on the front foot and Iori went on one of his jollies and crossed to Archie, who just couldn’t get it past the ’keeper and it came off the bar this time. So still two-up on the half-time whistle.
Coaches Dewi (Bielsa) Davies and Phil Catlin had an easy half-time talk, with a simple more of the same second half.
Hakin made a bright start, but Ned and Teejay were having none of it and closed the door again. Number three arrived for Tenby when take em on Archie took off on his toes and crossed a great ball the for the excellent Jack Jones to finish.
Will tried hard to get number four, but was closed down by the Hakin defence. He soon got his way, though, when Michael pushed from his starting position and supplied a decent ball for Will to get his second of the match and four up.
So the seasiders had well and truly one foot in the final, but they wanted more and with free-kick some 25 yards out, yet another lad who was having a superb match, Teejay Gardner struck towards the Hakin goal and it simply sailed over the keeper! Don’t know who was more shocked him or the ’keeper or indeed his team-mates, but it was number five and just like the proverbial London buses, another soon arrived for Jack to get his well-deserved hat-trick.
Subs were made and they were Jake Allen, Finnan Authur and Kurtis Sarrionandia, who from the off looked busy, Jake looking the busiest with some great pressing, Finnan was probing in and around the box and Kurt was giving the Hakin defence some grief.
With five minutes to go on the watch, more rolling subs were made, Archie being one and he set up Jake for number seven.
With seconds only left ,the homesters looked at a clean sheet, but Hakin got themselves a consolation goal.
So Tenby march on to yet another cup final, they still have a league game to go at home to Camrose, but more than that they still are in the Under 16s Welsh Cup and face a decent Bryncoch FC who play in the Swansea A League and have a record of played 12, won five, lost three and drawn four. So an excellent season thus far, but another David and Goliath awaits.
UNDER 7s
An amazing effort was put in from Tenby under 7s on Saturday down at Neyland, right from the first whistle.
Tenby were outstanding - as the players passed, marked, and talked to each other and worked well as a team,
Tenby scored some great goals, and won 15-0, but most of all, everyone was enjoying themselves and smiling.
A special mention to Oscar Lawrence who won man of the match. He controlled the game and overall game was class.
Thanks again go to all the parents for the early start and to Neyland for hosting the game.
