It was an early start for the Under 8s away to Pennar Whites, in a tough game from the off, with both sides playing with such determination.
For the first two quarters, the boys played so well, lots of passing and some brilliant attempts at goal. Tenby went into half-time 2-0 down.
The boys applied pressure when needed and claimed one goal back - well done Carwyn!
Final score was 2-1, with some brilliant goalkeeping by Toby, and an excellent game by all. Although the team didn’t come away with the win, they should be very proud; it was a pleasure to watch.
Team - William Philpotts, Toby Hilling, Max Howells, Iori O’Rourke, George Hughes, Carwyn Williams, Oliver Ingham, Blake Ryder, Ollie Toy, Kian Smith, Travis Davies.
Under 13s
Saturday saw Tenby Under 13s travel east to St. Clears, a tough game ahead after both teams reached the final of the cup last year.
And a tough start it really was, with St. Clears taking advantage of the new larger goals and were first to hit the back of the net, much to the delight of the crowd.
A shaken Tenby side were soon on the attack, but despite several chances, the score remained the same until late into the first half when Toby grabbed an equaliser. Half-time score 1-1.
A stern talking to by Angie saw a more motivated team soon create another goal early in the second half from Max, but it was not long before this was equalled by a defiant St. Clears team.
With the match poised at 2-2 for a good while and the play end to end, it was Tenby who started to dominate, with two quick goals from Dylan and another from Morgan giving them some breathing space.
Max grabbed another two, before St. Clears grabbed a late one to make the final score 7-3 to Tenby.
Monday then saw Tenby travel north to Clarbeston Road, where once again a tough game lay ahead.
With the boys still getting used to a larger pitch and bigger goals, the play was end to end. However, it was Tenby who took their chances first and with goals from Max and Morgan the score halfway through the first half was 2-0.
Clarbeston stayed strong and took a chance which hit the back of the net.
Just before half-time Dylan brought the score to 3-1.
The second half saw Tenby play some much better football, controlling the attack and strong in defence. Further goals from Iori, Max and Jack led the score at the final whistle to 6-1. Another great win. Well done team.
Under 15s
The Seasiders faced Milford Haven United at the Clicketts. From the start the homesters looked strong and soon they took the lead courtesy of a great bit of individual skill from Kurt Saronandia.
Yet again the goals were coming from all over the park and soon Archie Smith had a brace for a three-up advantage.
Milford never gave up and soon the Tenby defence was broken and at the other end the crowd thought they were going to witness a rare Karaka but Callum’s effort went narrowly over the Milford bar.
Iori Humphries was causing his usual menace with his ability to get back and tackle as well as driving at the defence. It was not long though before the next and it was a good bit of skill from Joe Evans (pictured).
Archie then took the ball down the left and slotted a lovely pass for Dylan Morgan to get on the scoresheet for number five.
Soon after, Archie probably thought his hat-trick was sealed, but he was denied by the Milford ’keeper.
So at half-time the Seasiders had a 5-1 lead.
On to the second half and with the coaches making rolling subs, it was Will Malone who was putting some great work in on the pitch, with some excellent touches and well-timed tackles.
Milford kept pushing forward, but couldn’t find a way through and credit to Ned Davies and his backline for that.
Tenby very nearly gained another goal, but Charlie Gregory could only stand and watch as his fantastic strike hit the beans! However, number six wasn’t long and yes it was the giant Jack Jones.
The lads were playing against a decent Milford side, but they wanted more and another run down the left saw the ball put on the plate for Charlie Phillips to seal the match 7 1.
