Tenby Under 12s travelled to a rainy Pennar for a mid-week game on Monday evening last week.

Playing in their blue away kit, on a spacious pitch, the boys were keen to show some good football. Early on in the first half, they achieved some dominance and created a good few chances, and it wasn’t long before Max found the back of the net.

More goals in the first half came from Dylan (2), Iori, Cas and another from Max.

An unusual defensive error saw Kyle out from his goal and Pennar took their chance and got a goal back. Half-time score 6-1.

As the rain came down, the boys kept the pressure on, with some good passing and strong attacking play from Morgan soon leading to another goal from Max.

At the end of the game, the score was 9-1, with goals from Archie and another from Max completing the second half.

Thursday saw Tenby play host to Hundleton. The Hundleton team showed great spirit, despite the dominance of the Seasiders. Their ’keeper made some excellent saves throughout the game, but they weren’t able to cope with the strength of the home attack, and the game ended at 17-0 to Tenby.

However during the game, the team was dealt a huge blow, with big defender Jack splitting his knee and therefore being out for the big game on Saturday.

Saturday saw the team head to Camrose, who were level on points with Tenby, with both teams having lost one game.

Tenby knew this would be a tough test and they were right. The first half saw Tenby go 2-0 up, with two goals from Max. However, deep into the half, Camrose were able to level the score and at half-time the score was 2-2.

At the start of the second half, Tenby found themselves under pressure and within only a few minutes, Camrose were able to bag three more goals.

At 5-2, the game was seemingly lost, but the Tenby boys kept battling and managed to pull two goals back through Morgan and Iori, before time ran out and Camrose were victorious.

The boys were devastated as the league title now looks out of reach. Well done to Camrose; they played some excellent football.

More league games mid-week and a cup game this coming Saturday. Still plenty to play for.

Well what a game!: A very sunny morning over at Prendergast on Saturday saw our best team performance for a few weeks. It was very entertaining with some great goals, but the whole team performance was so pleasing to watch with some nice passing and the tackling was outstanding.

After a very nervous ending to the game, we managed to come out 3-2 winners against a strong Villa side!
