St. Florence were up against Narberth this week, with the Under 10s, 12s and 14s playing at the Snooty Fox for their latest round of games.

Under 10s

As Narberth only had a few girls to play, they decided to mix both sets of players together to play a friendly.

Under 12s

With Narberth and St. Florence both being unbeaten so far this season, this was always going to be a close game. When the teams last met in St. Florence, the game ended six-all.

St. Florence started really well, attacking right from the first whistle. There was really good passing and movement from Teigan, Connie, Mabli and Charlotte, creating chances.

The first goal came when a good pass from Alex played Charlotte in on goal and she finished really well.

St. Florence went two-nil in front when Teigan scored.

Although Florence, Ella and Marli were playing really well in defence, Narberth managed to create a chance and got their first goal.

Before half-time, St. Florence scored again. When a corner was only half cleared by Narberth, it fell to Fiona, who blasted the ball into the net.

In the second half, St. Florence were going to have to play up the hill, so it was going to be difficult for them to hold off Narberth.

The girls started positively with a brilliant team goal that started with Ella winning the ball in defence and passing to Connie, who played a great pass down the wing, where Charlotte delivered a great cross for Teigan to finish brilliantly.

But Narberth struck back quickly to score their second.

Although St. Florence created some good chances, they were unable to score again, with shots from Teigan, Fiona, Mabli, Connie and Charlotte all going close.

With five minutes to go, Narberth scored again to make it 4-3 and St. Florence were holding on with great defending by Alex, Teaghan, Nancy and Marli to stop Narberth equalising.

Emily in goal for St. Florence also pulled off some great saves to stop Narberth, despite not feeling well.

With a couple of minutes to go, Narberth had a good shot that was cleared off the line by Florence and the girls thought that was going to win it for them, only for Narberth to score with almost the last kick of the game to draw the match 4-4.

It was a great match played by both teams.

Under 14s

The Under 14s girls welcomed Caitlin to their team. The girls started the game on the attack, with Olwen and Halle both having shots that just went wide.

Halle was soon on the scoresheet with a great shot. Narberth equalised quickly, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of St. Florence, who were playing really well as a team.

Olwen, Delun and Halle created chances in attack, while Hope and Jazz were doing brilliantly in defence to stop Narberth, with Caitlin growing into her first game as the goalkeeper.

St. Florence went ahead again with a great run by Olwen from the halfway line, passing two players before shooting past the Narberth ’keeper.

Just before half-time, Narberth equalised again to make it two-all at the break.

After a couple of changes of positions at half-time, the girls carried on attacking, with Jazz, Olwen and Halle causing Narberth problems.

St. Florence scored again after Olwen and Jazz had combined to set-up the chance for Halle to finish.

With the girls holding on, Narberth scored to make it 3-3 in what was another great game.
