Half term week ended with an away trip to Newcastle Emlyn on a windy, cold and at times wet Sunday morning.

The St. Florence team consisted of Connie (capt), Ellie, Liv, Ruby, Fiona, Meg, Maddy and Imogen.

St. Florence struggled to come to terms with the conditions and the pitch in the first half.

Connie put St. Florence into the lead in the first few minutes.

After a sustained period of pressure from Newcastle Emlyn they equalised.

The game was end to end with Imogen and Fiona scoring two further goals for St. Florence to lead 3-2 at half-time.

There was some fine defending from Fiona and goalkeeping from Ellie.

St. Florence started to get to grips with the conditions and the pitch in the second half.

Imogen was stamping her authority in midfield with a further goal.

There was fine passing and interlinking play between Maddy, Ruby, Meg and Connie, and the side started to pepper shots at the Newcastle Emlyn goal.

Further goals from Maddy, Ruby and Connie stretched St. Florence’s lead to 7-2.

The girls should be proud of how they played and for the first time this year particularly in the first half had to dig deep to get to grips with the opposition.
