Two goals by Dafydd Wright and one apiece by Chris Brown and Ashley Williams helped propel Narberth into the second round of the Senior Cup.
The Bluebirds travelled to Llangwm for what could have been a tricky tie and it very nearly was after the hosts took a 2-1 lead.
Ashley Williams put the visitors ahead with a header following a Chris O’Connell cross, before the home team drew level following a defensive error.
Wright then came to the rescue with a header to put the ahead, before adding another to make the score 3-2.
Llangwm pulled another two back, but an O’Connell strike saw Narberth through.
Kilgetty may be going great guns in the league, but their cup aspirations for this season came to nothing following a home defeat against Neyland.
The difference in divisions told with the Nomads coming out on top 5-1.
In the second round of the cup, Angle came out on top against Cosheston, winning 3-0. Chris Richards, Josh Richards and Patrick McDonagh scored the goals for the victors in the Karl Cookson sponsored clash.
Elsewhere, a Dylan Davies brace helped Hundleton to victory over Broad Haven, with the hosts winning 5-3.
In addition to Davies’s excellence, the other goals came from Brandon Sture, Joe Buckle and Charlie Perkins.
Jason Donahoe scored for Pennar Robins, but that was the home team’s only highlight after they lost 5-1 to West Dragons, for whom former Tenby players Daryl and Jerome Mansbridge scored alongside a Jordan Williams brace, while another former Tenby player scored, this time for Carew in their win over Saundersfoot Sports.
The Rooks, who are having a great start to the season, won 2-0, the other goal being scored by Alex Bailey
In league action, it was a horrible afternoon for Lamphey after they lost 10-2 at Goodwick United, with Mikey Davies scoring their only goals, but a better one for Monkton Swifts after they edged a win over Herbrandston.
The Swifts came out on top thanks to goals from Daniel Scourfield and two from Ryan Griffiths.
In division two, Lawrenny went down 4-1 at Hakin United seconds, while a Nathan Evans brace helped St. Clears overcome Merlins Bridge’s seconds as they won 2-1.
It was a sorry day for Pembroke Boro after they lost 10-2 at Camrose, Dan Heaps and Keiron Walton scoring their only goals, but a better day for Pennar Robins’ seconds after a Jimmy Wilks goal gave them a 1-0 win over Carew seconds.
Will Cohen grabbed one for Manorbier United in their 6-1 defeat at Milford Athletic.
Ashley Smith, Lewis Desforges and Jamie Roberts were on hand to score for St. Florence in their game at home against Pendine, but it didn’t prevent them from going down 5-3, while the game between West Dragons’ seconds and Narberth seconds was postponed.
Liam Butland scored three, Luke Hendry two, while Connor Rees, Jordan Kilby and Morgan Daye all grabbed one each for Monkton Swifts’ seconds in their win at Herbrandston seconds, while in the game between Lamphey seconds and St. Clears; seconds, the victory went back with St. Clears after they came out 5-2 winners.
Richard Rees and Jamie Aires scored for Lamphey, while Joe Gouldingray finished with a hat-trick for the Saints and Steve Trivett two.
Kilgetty seconds went down 4-2 at Neyland, despite Chuck Walters and Dean Morgan scoring. Defeat, too, for Angle seconds after a 9-0 loss at Solva.
In division five, Carew thirds were unable to field a side for their home game against Saundersfoot Sports, while a Sam Davies brace was enough to see Lawrenny seconds over the line against Hundleton seconds after they won 2-1
Finally, Pembroke Boro seconds beat Johnston seconds 4-1, with Rees Allison and Jason Evans both finishing with two apiece.
WWF Intermediate Cup draw
The draw for the second round of the WWFA Tony Nakonecznyj Insurance Brokers Intermediate Cup has been made, with ties involving Pembrokeshire clubs being as follows:
FC Nedd v Narberth; Giants Grave v Pennar Robins; Glynneath Town v Carew; Hakin United v Dafen Welfare; Kilvey Fords v Goodwick United; Lamphey v Kingsbridge Colts; Malsters Sports v Fishguard Sports; Merlins Bridge v Penclawdd; Milford United v St. Josephs; Monktoin Swifts v Mountain Dew.
Matches are to be played on Saturday, November 4.
