What’s happened to Johnston? Two seasons ago they swept all before them and a new age of glory looked to be dawning at Glebelands. How times have changed. On Saturday, Carew beat them 11-0. Not that the Rooks will be complaining or indeed worrying too much about the Tigers’ plight as they revelled in their weekend’s win.

Scott Fearney was the chief tormentor of Johnston, scoring four goals, while Jordan Raymond struck twice. Sean Whitfield and Henry McBeth both scored from the penalty spot, with the other goals coming from Alex Bailey, James Hinchliffe and Iwan Izzard.

There was a derby at Monkton, with the Swifts entertaining Lamphey and victory went with the visitors. They won 4-2 as Ross Fortune and Nico Morrison both scored, before Sam Southcott’s brace. Ben Adams and Jason Finnegan scored for the hosts.

In the second round of the division two cup, St. Clears were pipped at the post by Hundleton as the hosts came from behind to win 3-2. The Saints went ahead through a brace from Jonny Thomas, but goals by Dylan Davies, Lloyd Wilson and Brandon Sture allowed the home team to deny them at the end.

Saundersfoot Sports are through, too, having beaten St. Ishmaels 2-1 after goals by Richard Cope and Jack Franklyn, while in league action, Lawrenny went down 5-2 at home to Letterston. Joe Kidney and Owen James both scored for the home team, but their goals were to no avail.

In division three, Kilgetty’s Ross Hurst put in a dominant display against Pennar Robins’ seconds to help the home team win 2-0. Hurst grabbed the team’s first goal, before Henry Lawrence nipped in for the second to provide them with their third win from just their fifth game of the season.

Carew seconds beat their counterparts from Johnston 9-2, while Manorbier United went down 8-1 at Milford United’s seconds. Pendine beat Milford Athletic 8-1.

Meanwhile, it was a day of disaster for Narberth seconds as they lost 12-0 at home to Llangwm. A goal by Jake Holland helped St. Clears’ seconds claim a 1-1 draw with St. Ishmaels’ stiffs, while Pennar Robins’ thirds failed to raise a side for their trip to Hubberston. Pembroke Boro did, though, and they drew 1-1 with Herbrandston’s seconds after Phil John scored.

It was a good day for St. Florence as they hammered Prendergast Villa 6-1. Lewis Deforges and Ashley Smith both scored twice for the hosts, with the others coming from an own goal and one by Mark Reed.

In division five, Kilgetty seconds lost 4-2 at Llangwm seconds after Andrew Evans scored before an own goal doubled their tally in an otherwise disappointing display.

Three goals by Wayne Boswell, and two each from Jordan Kilby and Paul Lacey, together with one by Liam Butland, ensured Monkton Swifts’ seconds beat Camrose seconds 8-2.

Victory for Hundleton seconds, too, as they narrowly came out on top over Milford Athletic’s seconds. They won 4-3 thanks to goals from Jack Blunsden, Connor Hay and Sam Newberry.
