Narberth faced a trip away to second from bottom Johnston on Saturday and the trip to Glebelands didn’t prove to be a fruitful as they would have liked.
Despite occupying a mid-table position, Narberth’s form has been iffy this season so a trip to the struggling tigers would have been just the tonic to pick up their staggered season.
It proved anything but as Leigh Walters showed his class in hitting two goals, while Narberth’s only score came from McCauley O’Connor in the 2-1 defeat.
A trip to last year’s treble winning champions Goodwick was on the cards for Carew who went down 1-0 despite giving a good account of themselves, while two goals apiece for Billy Davies and Nathan Ferrier together with a Sam Southcott goal helped Lamphey to a 5-2 win over Milford United.
There was a minute’s silence before the game between Pennar Robins and Monkton Swifts in memory of Adam Tuner as players from both sides linked arms amid emotional scenes.
The game itself was a typical derby between the sides with the Swifts edging it 4-3.
Carl Rees, Craig Lucas and Richard Hughes scored for the Robins while Tom Powell, Ben Nicholas with a penalty, Dan Scourfield and Ben Adams scored for the victors.
Tenby recorded a big win at home against Neyland winning 9-5.
Sam Christopher led the way with four goals, while Nathan Patterson and Daryl Mansbridge each scored two. The other was scored by Jack Christopher.
Angle meanwhile lost 8-1 at West Dragons with Chris Richards scoring their only goal.
Struggling St. Clears picked up a much-needed point at Herbrandston with the game finishing 3-3.
The Saints put in an improved performance to secure a draw with Herbie placed much higher than them in the league.
Hundleton went down 5-0 at home against Merlins Bridge’s seconds, while the game between Saundersfoot Sports and Lawrenny was tied 3-3.
In the third division cup first round between Kilgetty and Clarbeston Road’s second team, the honours went with the home side as they won 7-2.
Tom Baker and Henry Lawrence both shone for the Kingsmoor outfit, while George Wright nabbed the other.
In the game between Manorbier United and Milford Athletic, the honours went to the visitors although Joe Mckeown’s strike for the hosts was a good one
Narberth seconds were victorious at home against Johnston seconds as they won 4-1.
Jordan Madeira scored two for the hosts, while Calum Phillips and Nathan Lloyd hit the others.
In division three, Pendine went down 6-4 at Llangwm in a tend goal thriller, while Pennar Robins’ seconds won 1-0 at home against Camrose thanks to Wayne Brunton’s winner.
In division four, a goal by Steff Morgan was all St. Clears’ seconds had to show in their 8-1 home defeat against Lamphey seconds who matched to victory thanks to an Anthony Webb hattrick a Jamie Aries brace and goals from Jason Evans, Josh Sture and Adam Brown.
Dan Boswell scored for Angle seconds in their Joe Hathaway sponsored game against West Dragons’ seconds, although the visitors ended up winning that one 2-1, while Joan Beynon sponsored the game between Pembroke Boro and Fishguard Sports’ seconds in memory of Adam Tuner.
The Boro won that game 5-3 as Phil John scored a hat-trick and Jack Campbell a brace.
It was a high scoring game between St. Florence and Herbrandston seconds too as the Saints won 6-2.
Lewis Deforges scored two alongside goals from Ashley Smith, Will Thomas, Owen Bateman and an own goal.
Meanwhile in division five, Kilgetty seconds lost 6-1 at Monkton Swifts’ seconds whose goals came from Jason Kilby, Luke Hendrie a Joey Williamson brace and a Liam Butland hat-trick.
Carew seconds came out on top in their game against Hundleton seconds with the Rooks winnings 2-1.
Sam Harts and Tom Scourfield scored for the winners with Jack Blunsden nipping in for the visitors’ goal.
Finally, Simon Cole scored four in Lawrenny seconds’ 5-1 home win against Pembroke Boro as Brad Jenkins scored the other. Shaun Williamson grabbed the Boro’s score.
