After three games of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire AFL, Carew are sitting top of the division one table following a 100% win ratio in all their matches.
They’re doing it in style too having scored 17 goals, 11 of them coming against Clarbeston Road on Saturday following an 11-1 win against the visitors.
There were two goals each for Sam Christopher, Jordan Richards and Sean Whitfield while Jack Christopher, Iwan Izzard, Lloyd Hughes, James Hinchcliffe and Alex Bailey all got in on the act in the one-sided win
Not such a good start for Lamphey however after they lost 7-1 at home against Merlins Bridge, Adrian Jones grabbing the Stags’ only goal.
The result leaves them winless and rooted to the foot of the table.
During a midweek fixture a week ago the game between Milford United and Monkton Swifts was abandoned after a United player dislocated his knee in the 8th minute.
The sportsmanship of the Swifts was praised that day after they helped care for the injured player, yet all that was put to one side on Saturday after the teams met again with the Swifts running out 5-1 winners.
Jimmy Russell scored twice for the visitors with other goals coming from Ben Steele, Dylan Davies and Chris Richards.
Narberth entertained Hakin and lost 2-0 leaving the Bluebirds without a win all season while there was a great game between Pennar Robins and Saundersfoot with the hosts running out 6-4 winners.
Ben Adams stole the show with four goals while Josh Dursley and Tom Grimwood grabbed the others.
For Saundersfoot, the goals came from Ryan Howell, Richard Cope, Geoff Marsh and Ewan Laidlaw.
Defeat for St Clears too after a 4-2 loss at home against Goodwick United, Nathan Evans and Josh Jones grabbing their goals.
In division two, Lawrenny went down 4-2 at Camrose despite goals from James Phillips and Dean Morris while Kilgetty and Solva drew 3-3.
Hundleton lost 5-0 at Merlins Bridge seconds.
In division three, Pennar Robins’ seconds beat Goodwick United seconds 2-0, Pedine lost 2-1 at Milford Athletic while Monkton Swifts’ seconds beat Narberth seconds 5-0 after three goals by Luke Hendry and one each for Harry Turner and Liam Butland.
Pembroke Boro won 3-0 at home against Fishguard Sports’ seconds after a brace of goals by Jake Campbell and one from Craig Tuner while Carew seconds hammered Solva 9-0 after three goals by Adam Muskett, two from James Adie and one each from Sam Harts, Rob Whitfield and Gareth Lewis.
There was a tie at St Florence after the hosts and St Clears’ seconds drew 3-3. Ashley Smith scored twice for the home team and Will Thomas the other while a brace from Tristan Hancock and one from Andrew McCabe ensured the visitors went home with a point.
In division four Cosheston AFC won 5-2 against St Ishmaels’ seconds after goals from Luke Wickland, John Williams, Corey Edge and Adam South while Hundleton seconds lost 6-3 at home against Kilgetty seconds.
In the derby between Pennar Robins’ thirds and Pembroke Boro seconds, victory went with the hosts after two goals from Nathan Kendrick and one each from Jamie Groves and Sonny Price with the Boro’s goals coming from Rhys Allison and two from Steffan Stanford.
Monkton Swifts seconds beat Lawrenny seconds 7-1 while the game between Carew thirds and Milford United thirds was postponed after Milford were unable to raise a side.
Tenby returned to league action with a 3-2 win at Newport Tigers after two goals from Jerome Mansbridge and one from Harry Harwood but no such joy for Saundersfoot Sports‘ seconds after they went down 6-1 at home against Johnston seconds, Gareth Howells grabbing the hosts’ only score.
