With Christmas just around the corner, football clubs from all over South Pembrokeshire were hoping to get themselves into the festive mood last wekend.

There was a mixture of league and cup action, but there were also some postponements.

In Division One, Carew gave it their all, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 away to league leaders Monkton Swifts.

Despite Chris Richards’s red card, Carew were unable to take advantage of the extra man.

Shaun Whitfield scored the Rooks’ goal which turned out to be a consolation.

There was more doom and gloom for Saundersfoot Sports as they suffered an embarrassing 10-0 defeat at the hands of Hakin United.

Narberth got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over St Clears.

Goals from Lloyd Hughes and Joe Gouldingay proved to be the difference on the day for the hosts, with Sean Seymour-Davies scoring the goal for St Clears.

Kilgetty’s match with Hakin United II was postponed due to the poor weather.

Lawrenny suffered another defeat after they were defeated 3-1 at home to St Ishmaels.

Sam Davies was on hand to score the home side’s only goal of the game.

Bragging rights were shared as Milford United drew 1-1 with Hundleton.

There were a few postponements in Division Three, with Carew’s II game with Monkton Swifts II being called off.

Cosheston AFC’s game with Milford Athletic was also postponed.

However, there was a bottom of the table clash between Pembroke Boro and Letterson.

The hosts came out winning 11-3, with all 11 goals being scored by three players.

Wayne Boswell and Steffan Sandford scored four, while Phil John scored a hat-trick.

This match was in memory of John Armstrong.

Moving on to Division Four, there was a five-goal thriller between Camrose II and Narberth II.

However, it was the away side who found themselves on the wrong end as Narberth II lost 3-2.

Gryff Morgan and Rhys Goymer got on the scoresheet for the away side.

St. Florence suffered a narrow defeat after they lost 1-0 at home to Broad Haven II.

However, there were also postponements with Tenby’s game against St. Ishmaels II being called off as was St. Clears II’s game against Haverfordwest CC II.

Angle’s dream of silverware was once again ended after they lost 1-0 away to Hundleton II in the Fifth Division Cup first round.

Carew III and Kilgetty II will have to do it again after the match between the two teams was postponed.

Finally in Division Five, Saundersfoot Sports II’s game with Lawrenny II was called off.

However, Pembroke Boro II are likely to face a points deduction after they failed to field a side.
