Last Friday evening saw the players and parents of the Kilgetty Under 8 team gather at Kingsmoor Social Club for their presentation evening.
The event kicked-off with a short speech by coach Harry Thomas who outlined the progress the boys had made throughout the season.
In total they played 22 matches winning 11, drawing two and losing nine. Harry thanked the boys and the parents for their commitment over the winter, turning out in the pouring rain and freezing cold for both training and games.
Before Harry presented the awards for the evening, Max Barber, one of the parents, made a presentation of a hamper to Phil (assistant coach) and Anna Sine (team manager) for all their hard work in the running of the team.
The main awards, all sponsored by Kilgetty AFC, were awarded as follows: top goal scorer - Kiaran Sine with 42 goals, most improved player - Jamie Keating; coaches player of the year - Macsen Barber; players’ player of the year - Yori Sheldon.
All the players then came up in turn to be presented with a trophy, kindly sponsored by Lydstep Beach Resort, Crackwell Holiday Park and Kingsmoor Garage, to commemorate their season.
The club would also like to thank Dean Deakin, of Sunny Vale Holiday Park, for his kind donation of new goals and volunteer coaches Harry Thomas, Matthew Davies, Phil Sine and manager Anna Sine for giving so freely of their spare time.
