Shaun Whitfield was in the wickets for Carew to help keep them ahead of the chasing pack after his 4-15 helped bowl Kilgetty out for just 88.

With the finishing line in sight for the Rooks, they overcame a weak challenge by the Kingsmoor outfit to ease to a seven-wicket win.

Toby Poole showed how much he has been missed this year by scoring 33 and skipper Ross Hardy 22, yet no-one else could stick with them.

In reply, Hardy took two wickets, but Ian Sefton’s 30 not out and Brian Hall’s unbeaten 21 saw them home.

Cresselly are still hot on their heels as they, too, recorded a seven-wicket win, with Johnston the victims.

The Tigers were all out for 183 after Dan Cherry took five wickets and he scored 40 not out, too, in the victory chase.

Phil Williams also hit 30 and Iwan Izzard 67 not out.

Simon Cole narrowly missed out on a century for Lawrenny as they beat Whitland by five wickets.

The talented all-rounder struck 97 not out in the run chase as the hosts overcame the Borderers’ 230-5, in which Iestyn Scourfield hit 60 not out and Jonathan Thomas 90.

Cole was helped by another talented all-rounder as teenager Ryan Morton struck a superb 49 in the winning reply.

Another week and another loss for Pembroke who struggled again to raise a side.

They were all out for just 50 against Haverfordwest who passed the total for the loss of two wickets.

In division two, Stackpole’s Richard MacKay hit a brilliant 119 not out and John Williams a hard hitting 36 to guide Stackpole to a five-wicket win at Burton.

Burton were all out for 180 thanks to Simon Bevan’s 5-39.

The win helped keep the Lillies above Whitland in the relegation fight with Whitland seconds, who also won following a 16-run win at home over Carew seconds.

Whitland were dismissed for just 117 after Dan Edwards took 4-17. Martin Thomas scored 30 for Whitland.

In reply, Scott Newton took 4-8 and Gethin Scourfield 3-3 as Carew fell short. Only James Hinchcliffe with 46 scored anything of note.

Three wickets apiece for James Caine and Sam Franklin helped Saundersfoot beat Haverfordwest seconds by seven wickets.

The town scored 124-9 as they struggled against the Seasiders’ attack.

Tom Mansbridge then hit 40 in the reply and Franklin 63 not out to guide the hosts home.

Narberth look to be joining champions Llangwm in division one next year after they accounted for visiting Llanrhian with ease.

The home team skittled the Cows for just 65 as Louie Davies took 5-16.

Richie Adams then hit 41 not out in the reply.

Defeat for Llanrhian’s seconds, too, after Lamphey beat them by 142 runs, the Stags scoring 221-9 declared thanks to Jake Griffiths’s powerful 86 and Dean Lawrence’s 38.

Grant Cole then bowled well to stifle the home team’s reply, taking 2-10, with Jake Griffiths, Peter McGilloway, Lawrence and Hywel Gibbs all taking a brace.

Cresselly seconds remain in second place after an easy eight-wicket win over Johnston seconds who were all out for 96 after Matthew Lewis’ 3-28.

Scott Arthur and Rhydian Rees with an unbeaten 22 saw them home.

Lawrenny seconds went down at Neyland seconds by five wickets despite scoring 211-7 after James Phillips’s brilliant 111 and Steve Campbell’s 51.

The bowlers weren’t quite in form, however, as Neyland lost just five wickets in passing the total.

Pembroke Dock secured a narrow win at Haverfordwest thirds after they skittled the home team for 135, just 13 runs less than their 148-10.

Peter Kingdom was the star of the show (not surprising given he plays a big part in producing Pembroke School’s annual summer musicals) by hitting 56 and taking 3-27.

Craig Butland also performed well, scoring 34.

A winning draw for Hundleton virtually secured their place in division four for next season, given they are 27 points ahead of second from bottom Kilgetty seconds

Hundleton scored 155-6 at home against Burton seconds and had the visitors 115-8 on reply.

Jonathan Williams once again starred with the bat for the hosts, hitting a cultured 67, while Steffan Williams took 3-22 and David Lockyer 2-6.

Bottom placed Pembroke seconds went down at home against Llechryd despite hitting 169-6

Kevin Jenkins hit 59 for the hosts, but the visitors had few issues in passing Pembroke’s score.

Second placed Narberth seconds went down to third placed Crymych to dent their promotion hopes.

Narberth hit 138-6 thanks to Andrew Williams’s 66 not out and Mike Johns’s 49, while Crymych lost just four wickets in their winning reply.

Defeat for Saundersfoot seconds, too, after they were all out for 30 at Hook seconds, who wasted little time in winning, while Kilgetty seconds were dismissed for 97 in reply to St. Ishmaels’ seconds 166-8.

Rob Beynon took 4-36 for Kilgetty, with Jack Waters hitting 23 and Andrew Evans 22.

Saturday proved a horrible day for Pembroke Dock seconds after they invited Laugharne to bat and they quickly racked up 324-1 as Kevin Pearce hit 204 retired.

Dwayne Reynolds was also in the runs, hitting 60 not out, and he took 5-19, too, with Simon Davies taking 4-14 as the Dock were all out for just 35.

Table-toppers Llangwm seconds beat Carew thirds by 112 runs after they scored 224-8 and dismissed the visitors for 112.

Morgan Broomhall hit 37 for Carew and Jeremy Griffiths took 4-25 and Alex Smith 3-45.

Cresselly thirds went down at home to Neyland thirds by 52 runs.

Neyland scored 189-5, with Cresselly 137 all out.

Damian Arthur scored 32 for the home team, Peter Rice 31, while Morgan Lewis took 3-50.

Finally, Stackpole seconds lost to Whitland thirds by nine wickets.

Stackpole were all out for just 63, with Whitland passing it for the loss of one.
