The star studded combined Carew and Saundersfoot team had a nine wickets win over the Neyland/Herbrandston team in the final of the Tony Pidgeon Ormond Youth Cup at Carew on Sunday.
In the first innings, although opener Jake Nicholas tried to hold things together with a fighting 38, Neyland/Herbrandston were dismissed for 79.
Max Brindley took 3-19, Iori Hicks 2-9 and Tudor Hurtle 1-16 in his four tight overs.
In reply, the talented Mansbridge brothers were the main contributors in a Carew/Saundersfoot total of 133.
Tom scored 57 with a brace of sixes and seven fours and John 34 with four fours and a six.
Iori Hicks (13) and Max Brindley (10) also kept the scoreboard ticking.
After the early run feast, spinner William Hughes put a brake on the run scoring in the best possible way. He took wickets to finish with 5-17, aided by Harry Nicholas with 3-25 and Ben Fairbairn picking up the other wicket to fall.
With a first innings deficit of 54, the Neyland/Herbrandston team faced a well nigh impossible task to get back into the game.
So it proved, as despite the efforts of middle order batsman Harry Nicholas with an undefeated 27 and double figure contributions of 12 each from Lewis Page and Ben Milsom, Neyland/Herbrandston were held to 78-8.
Max Brindley took 3-9 in four overs and Tudor Hurle 2-12.
Although John Mansbridge fell without scoring, Tom Mansbridge and Max Brindley with 12 apiece steered their team through to a winning total of 27-1.
Unsurprisingly John Mansbridge was chosen as Man of the Match and he received the Hugh Phillips Trophy from Micky Marsh of Kilgetty.
