The Saundersfoot Bowling Club green was officially opened last Saturday in readiness for the 2019 summer season.

The Chairman of the local Community Council, Mr. Martyn Williams B.E.M. was introduced by Saundersfoot President Mrs Ann Lewis who wished everyone a happy and successful season.

She thanked everyone, both ladies and gents, who had worked hard preparing the green and clubhouse as well as those who had continued their work on the administration side throughout the winter.

Stephanie and Gemma Amos, having been selected to play for Wales, were wished success for this year’s international series in Guernsey as were the mother and daughter plus Ann who, as Welsh pairs and triples champions would be representing their country in the British Isles championships there.

Martyn then also wished everyone at the club well for the summer before rolling the first wood down the green.

Also present among the members were club officials Myrddin Dennis, Diane Rigden and David Davies, as well as local councillors Phil Baker and Bill Cleverly.

Afterwards, all enjoyed a buffet that had been prepared by the ladies.
