Could anybody advise me why the taxi fares locally appear to have risen considerably?

I take a taxi periodically from Saundersfoot to Pentlepoir. Last Friday at 10 pm, the fare for the 1.3 mile journey was £7.40, when last year I was paying approximately £6, which I thought was high, but acceptable.

As there are no buses running, as there were previously on Friday and Saturday evenings, should the council reconsider this service or at least take a look at taxi fares locally.
