Lego Club is still going strong on Friday afternoons, and will still be running during half-term next week. No booking is needed, just turn up from 3 to 4.30pm and be creative; children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. There are some wonderful models on display in the library from previous weeks; at the moment they are on display for two weeks before the blocks have to be reused. If anyone has any Lego at home that is no longer used, the library is accepting donations.
Baby Rhyme Time will not be on next week during half-term, but will back from Monday, November 7, 10.30 to 11am, for all pre-school children and their adults. It is a drop-in event, no booking required, just turn up and enjoy the stories and songs.
This month there are new novels in by Kate Atkinson, William Boyd, Ruth Jones, Graham Norton and James Patterson. New non-fiction books this month include some more to help a household budget stretch further such as Feed Your Family for £20 a Week, two of Miguel Barclay’s One Pound Meals recipe books, and Low-Cost Living by John Harrison. Tenby Library also has David Dimbleby’s memoir Keep Talking and some new books of poetry.
There has been a lot of discussion about ‘warm spaces’ recently and staff would like to remind people that Pembrokeshire Libraries are open to everyone in the area, depending on opening times. Membership is not required to sit and read; the libraries have newspapers and books, tables, chairs and beanbags, and heating. Feel free to come in and see what it’s like.
Food waste bags are freely available at the library on request; also have a supply of the recycling boxes and bags. Orange bags for mixed recycling are no longer available.
If you need grey bags for general waste, they are not available in the library. Instead, you can contact the Council on 01437 764551 Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm or email [email protected] .
