What should one do when you notice a large tree 12-feet from a main road leaning at approximately 50 degrees possibly due to the continued wet weather out towards the main highway. On a normal day, about 60 buses pass the same spot and would be in real danger of a fatal accident if the tree fell.
Ring Pembrokeshire council I thought, but after two calls, I was told I could only leave a message by the operator. Did my message get to the right people and was it being taken seriously? I have no idea as no one from the council has returned my call and the tree is still hanging precariously over the road.
If there is an accident or injury, then sadly it will be down to the lack of urgency from the highways authority at the council when a member of the public takes their time to try and avert a potential problem, but clearly there are more urgent matters to work on first.
The tree is located approximately 30 yards from the southern entrance to the Swallow Tree estate on the B4316 Saundersfoot road if anyone from the council is interested.
