A closer examination of a proposal to ensure waste and recycling storage is included in planning applications will be carried out by Pembrokeshire County Council.
A ‘notice of motion’ came before a Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Thursday, April 19, calling for provision to be a requirement of plans for new builds.
Clr Joshua Beynon argues that with changes to how rubbish and recycling is collected residents are concerned about storage so future planning applications “must provide adequate provision” to ensure developments are sustainable.
Storage of bin bags and recycling has been highlighted as an issue in towns such as Pembroke Dock which has a high number of houses of multiple occupation and in areas with large number of flats and apartments.
Clr. Beynon’s notice of motion will be put on the scrutiny committee’s work programme for consideration and will be discussed again at its next meeting, due to be held in June
