Pembroke Dock's remarkably varied history over two centuries will be in the spotlight next month when special guided walks take place in the town.
The walks - on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11 - are part of the Battle of the Atlantic 70th Anniversary events.
They will be led by four historians who, between them, have a wide insight into the town's heritage.
David James, of the West Wales Maritime Heritage Society, Ted Goddard and Brian Pratt will be joined by John Evans, of the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust, which is co-ordinating the Anniversary Weekend.
The four walks, all of which begin at the Pater Hall, are:
Friday, May 10 - 11 am Ted Goddard: Maritime Reflections: Hancocks to Hobbs Point; 2 pm John Evans: Reminders of the RAF.
Saturday, May 11 - 11 am Brian Pratt: In The Steps Of Pigs' Parade; 2 pm David James: Stepping Stones in Maritime History.
John Evans will also be giving an illustrated talk at the Pater Hall's Sunderland Suite at 4 pm on the Saturday - following on the two-day exhibition which is being staged in the main hall. John will be reflecting on PD's key involvement in the Battle of the Atlantic Campaign in World War II.
Further details of these and other events will be available in the programme which will be published shortly, and on the Sunderland Trust's website http://www.sunderlandtrust.org.uk">www.sunderlandtrust.org.uk
