Pete Oxley and Nicolas Meier are set to perform at the beautiful Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, next Thursday, August 27, in an exciting instalment of Span Arts’ monthly jazz programme, SpanJazz.
Oxley has released 12 albums under his own name and has been playing on the British jazz scene since 1997, with everyone from Stacey Kent to Gilad Atzmon. Not to be outdone, Meier is in the heavy metal band Seven7 and regularly tours with Jeff Beck.
Both experienced and gifted players in their own right, together they form a rhythmically swinging and melodically inventive duo. The array of changing sounds they create is characterised by a relaxed, contemplative approach that focuses on flowing melody and harmonic interplay.
Oxley and Meier are currently touring the UK with their new studio album, Chasing Tales. With a mix of inspirations that range from Latin America to the English folk tradition, they incorporate a world of sound possibilities into each of their compositions.
Based upon the rave reviews they regularly receive in the jazz scene, this will be an unmissable event for jazz lovers.
