Tenby’s new inshore lifeboat Kathleen Ann performed its first rescue on Sunday (November 7) alongside the all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller, after Milford Haven Coastguard received information that a small dinghy had capsized near Monkstone Point, with the occupants in the water, unable to right the vessel.
Both lifeboats were quickly on the scene and spotted the casualties near their upturned vessel.
They were quickly picked up by the Kathleen Ann, before being transferred to the all-weather lifeboat, where they were treated for suspected hypothermia, whilst the volunteer crew made best speed back to the lifeboat station.
Once back on the slipway, the casualties were transferred into the care of the waiting Ambulance crew, before being taken to hospital to be checked over.
