’Tuk Tuk Time’ has become somewhat of a local, legendary social enterprise during 2020, offering a suite of services to vulnerable members of the community in Pembrokeshire.

The business normally provides the service of tours, taxis, weddings, events and occasions in Pembrokeshire, but stepped up enormously in service at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the very first lockdown last year, the communities of Kilgetty, Begelly, Pentlepoir, Stepaside and Saundersfoot enjoyed a huge team effort, with volunteers taking orders, shopping and delivering groceries and prescriptions, all made possible via Tuk Tuk Time and their cute three-wheeled authentic Indian vehicles. The community simply fell in love with their lovely little fleet of Tuk Tuks.

During Lockdown 3, the need to assist the community by ensuring the elderly and most vulnerable among us arrive for their much anticipated vaccination in Saundersfoot was identified. Given the similar demographic for the vaccine rollout, it’s very likely the very same residents who received their shopping via Tuk Tuks during the initial lockdown will be the recipients of this much-needed service of their accompanying residents to and from their vaccine appointments.

For residents of Saundersfoot and surrounding areas who are registered with Saundersfoot Surgery, Tuk Tuk Time offer facilities to transport to scheduled appointments in safety, comfort and style in a Pembroksehire Tuk Tuk, free of charge, and with the support of their fully trained staff.

Tuk Tuk Time’s generous offer was shared on social media last week.

“Just checking in with you all to send our love and our hope that you are all staying safe and well,” said Lorraine from Tuk Tuk Time.

“While at last the vaccines are being rolled out we are offering to take our elderly/more vulnerable people who have been called for their vaccine in the general Saundersfoot area. We would consider it a privilege to collect you, take you to the Saundersfoot Health Centre and wait for you to take you home. Stay safe and well everybody, we will all get through this... together.”

If you would like to partake of Tuk Tuk Time’s kind offer, please get in touch with them on 01834 813333.

Meanwhile, readers are encouraged to help by spreading the word about this kind offer if they know of anyone who needs transport to their vaccine appointment.
