An update on plans to illuminate Tenby’s historic town walls was given to members of the town council at at their meeting this week.

At a recent meeting between town councillors and representatives from Pembrokeshire County Council and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, where the possibilities of enhancing the South Parade were discussed, PCC’s regeneration manager, Sinead Henehan, said that the lighting of the walls had been seen as a priority project by the Town Regeneration Team and that the authority was keen to work with the town council to make the idea a reality.

PCC’s street lighting manager, Mel Stevens, explained that he had already contacted a firm with vast experience of sympathetic floodlighting of historic landmarks, and they were going to provide a visualisation as to what could be achieved.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that the authority were still waiting for the lighting firm to come back with their proposals as there had been a slight delay, as they were currently working on the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London.
