Pembroke's Westgate Parent and Toddler Group were thrilled to welcome little Oscar Walsh to his first group session last week.

"We were so excited," said Mo James. "Maraid and Oscar are living proof that God answers prayer. She was so ill - in fact, as I understand it, there was a time when the doctors believed that one of them would not survive. But we began to pray for them and we have been simply amazed by what God has done and so delighted to see just how well he is."

Expressing her sincere thanks to all the members of the group who supported and prayed for them, Maraid said: "I have a baby who, to all intents and purposes, should not be here and I am so grateful for all the texts and emails and visits, for these are what kept us going. I felt quite proud going back into the group for the first time because I thought 'Yes, I've made it this far'. The boss upstairs must have a job for him."

Westgate's Parent and Toddler Group meet each Wednesday at 10 am. There is no cost, entry is free.
