Tenby’s PATCH base have thanked the generosity of local residents, the Sainsbury’s store and the Post Office for donating food items for the PATCH base in Lower Frog Street.

Sainsbury’s in Tenby have been so generous to PATCH for many years, with the store often donating food itself and co-ordinating donations of food and toiletries from the very generous people in the community.

As more people are being referred for help in these difficult times, so the donations have increased.

Most working days parcels of food are being delivered from the Tenby PATCH base in the Old Chapel in Lower Frog Street to clients in need in the south of the county.

Referral agencies, including social workers, health workers, support agencies, the Job Centre, Citizens’ Advice Bureau etc, refer people who need help to the PATCH headquarters in Milford Haven, who then telephone details to the Tenby base.

The PATCH team in Tenby then make up food parcels to last clients for five days.

During the Covid pandemic these parcels are delivered to the doorsteps of clients instead of them coming in person to collect them from the Old Chapel.

“This last Christmas Sainsbury’s and the Post Office in Tenby collected toys for the appeal and the response was overwhelming,” said a spokesperson for the charity.

“This meant PATCH was able to make a lot of children very happy over Christmas. We extend our thanks to all involved.”
