Tenby RNLI’s annual pancake race was served up on Tuesday, with crowds ‘flipping’ over to flock to see the fundraising event.

Now in its seventh year participants and watchers gathered from 11 am in Tudor Square for the races which featured categories for - five years and under; six to 12 years; men’s/chefs, women, and the ever entertaining crew sprint!

With all proceeds going to Tenby’s RNLI, this family fun event saw another terrific turnout for one of the most worthy causes in the area.

The first race was won by four-year-old Blossom Arthur, with eight-year-old Sam Morris coming in first spot for the second race.

Nine-year-old Noah Willis took the winning podium for the next race, before it was the turn of the adults with the town’s own Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall sprinting to victory on his run, followed by Hannah Palmer from the Baytree who came out top dog in the chef’s race, before RNLI crew member ‘Yobbler’ showed his colleagues how it’s done in the crew category.

The winners of each race received a prize kindly donated by local businesses.

Following the race event a two-course pancake lunch, was held at the Fourcroft Hotel, to continue the fundraising.

“Talk about community spirit - a very big thank you every one who attended the races and lunch,” said event organiser Jo Thomas.

“It has been yet another successful year with lots of laughs had by many. “Also a very big thank you to all who donated prizes, and all that help and support the event, which makes this day so much fun for everyone,” she added.
