In a fitting tribute to the life of a regular visitor to Tenby, her close friend has donated the cost of their untaken holiday to the local RNLI.

In memory of Miss Margaret Wheeler who was due to come to Tenby this September with her friend, Miss Alison Roberts has donated the cost of their holiday to Tenby RNLI as a fitting testimonial to her.

Miss Wheeler, who was originally from the Isle of Wight and more recently, of Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire, had planned the trip with her friend, Miss Roberts and booked through local holiday agency, FBM Holidays in March.

Miss Wheeler was a repeat visitor to Tenby, and remembered the area fondly, as well as being a keen supporter of the RNLI.

Unfortunately, Miss Wheeler passed away in June, and her friend, Miss Roberts felt that, to honour her late friend, she would donate the cost of their holiday to the local RNLI in Tenby.

The RNLI, who were recently presented with a cheque from FBM Holidays representative Peter Turton, were overwhelmed by the generosity of the gift, and local Coxswain for Tenby, Phil John (pictured) has thanked Miss Roberts for her kind donation, which will stand as a lovely gesture in which to remember her friend.
