Sir,
Re. your article last week on the town council’s discussions about the proposed Brynhir development and Clr. Mike Evans’s comments that Tenby needs more houses to grow.
For the town to grow, it needs to make the most of its assets, encouraging small artisan businesses which will attract visitors all year round and hopefully a few jobs for our young school leavers who are leaving Tenby to find employment.
With the lack of employment in this area who will occupy the 160 new houses to be built at Brynhir? The council have already stated that they did not support the 50 per cent affordable housing, so in all probability these new homes will be bought by retirees and those looking to invest in a holiday home.
Is this the sort of growth Tenby needs?
And what about the strain on our already beleaguered doctors surgery and parking facilities?
As for Mrs McLeod-Baikie comments on trespassing, isn’t she aware of the signposts that show you the way to the well worn public footpaths? Maybe she just hasn’t taken the opportunity to walk up to Brynhir and take in the fantastic views.
I advise her to do it soon because if the council have their way this beautiful green space will be gone.
A Williams,
Tenby.
