Tenby and District Lions were very pleased to present a cheque to Caroline Bridle towards the advertising costs for a Concert in Aid of Bone Cancer to be held at Folly Farm. The concert will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, and will feature Pembroke Male Voice Choir, Bella Voce Choir and Abba Legacy.
Caroline is organising this concert in memory of her son, Daniel, who sadly passed away from this disease at the age of 18.
As a seasonal gesture to help others, the Tenby and District Lions Club has also presented cheques for £200 each to the Tenby Salvation Army and to Patch (Pembrokeshire Action To Combat Hardship) which is a charity giving free food parcels, clothing, toys and household items to those in financial need in Pembrokeshire.
This Saturday (December 14) and on December 21, from 11 am to 3 pm, the Lions Club has secured the services of Father Christmas to come and talk to the children at his Grotto at the High Street entrance to Tenby Market (see picture left).
Then on Boxing Day at 11.30 am, the Lions will be providing cups of hot soup to all the swimmers taking part in the Boxing Day Swim.
