A film maker has just released a ‘passion project’ exploring the Fort on Tenby’s St Catherine’s Island.

Neath based freelance video producer Matt Evans, has just released a short one minute documentary filmed on the historic Tenby landmark.

“I’ve been visiting Tenby all of my life and my earliest memory is running through the main hall when I was about three-years-ol, when the Fort was briefly open to the public around the early 80s,” explained Matt.

“So this video is somewhat of a passion project, which has been filmed with permission visits to the Fort of course, with access to the lower tunnels and rooms not yet seen by the public.

“The video is for a competition entry to win a Sony camera, and the shortlisting is based on YouTube likes, so if you enjoy it, please give it a like and share, but it’s interesting nonetheless and I thought that people in Tenby area would like to see a little more of the inside of the Fort,” he added.

The video has the full backing of John Loring, St Catherine Island’s manager, and Matt has been listed as the Island and Forts official videographer.

Plans to re-open the historic St. Catherine’s Island and Fort to the public again have been given a boost recently, after a ‘change of use’ application was approved by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
