Tenby harbour will have to wait a little longer to welcome it’s boats back into the water as the lift scheduled for next month has been cancelled until further notice.
The operation to return the boats to the harbour water ahead of the Easter period was set to start early morning on Monday, April 6, but following the Government’s directive on Monday night, with people being ordered to stay at home, the sight of the vessels being lifted, which traditionally draws spectators viewing from vantage points around the picturesque harbour, has been postponed.
Tenby harbourmaster had stated that a slightly different set-up to the normal social event had already been planned in light of the Coronavirus social-distancing advice, in that he would insist people stayed away from the vicinity, with only the person responsible for each boat being lifted being allowed into the operation area.
