An author from Tenby has just had his first novel published telling the tale of a youth without ambition whose unexpected components of his ultimate business success takes him literally, from benefits to billions.

Mark Bashford’s fictional novel ‘From Benefits to Billions’ was released at the end of last month through Olympia Publishers, with the book telling the story of a young man content to drift through life aimlessly, innocently and happily, before life on benefits drives him to an act of desperation, and a mysterious man, who only answers to the name dad, stops him in his tracks and confronts him with the only two choices he has left in life...get rich or die.

Author Mark Bashford lives quietly in Tenby where he divides his time between family, friends, model cars, travelling to Europe and China, taking walks and writing books when the weather is bad.

His first contemporary novel takes readers on a good-humoured, light-hearted and disarmingly honest journey through young adult life - reflecting on the unexpected components of the lead character’s ultimate business success.
