Adventurer Rosie Swale Pope is recovering after taking part in the Los Angeles marathon.
She completed the 26.2 mile course in six hours 29 minutes and one second.
It was her first non-stop official marathon since running 27 marathons in 37 days back in 2009 and knee surgery in 2012.
Rosie was running for the Long Beach Police Department Widows and Orphans Fund whose generous help she received in the last days of her run across America which she completed recently after a two-year challenge.
“I was not sure how the LA marathon would go as I had not run for so long,” said Rosie on her Facebook page.
“I am so grateful and so thrilled and my medal belongs to all of you,” she added thanking supporters for their well-wishers.
“I’m 70 going on 30, but time is a valuable so I’m going to see much more of people I love and my grandchildren and other young people in the UK and USA and have crazy adventures more than ever before I have,” she added.
“My next aim is training to run 10 marathons in 10 days, but to finish the new book first of all.”
