A ‘table top sale’ is taking place next month to help raise funds for Tenby’s skate park facility.
The Tenby Jubilee Play and Skate Park Association is working with the Town Council to redesign and extend the skate park, overlooking the South Beach, which opened six years ago.
The Association officially launched its campaign to help raise some of the projected £150,000 costs at Tenby Firefighters’ Carnival in August.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown said that the table top sale would take place at the De Valence on Saturday, October 20, between 10 am and 4 pm.
“Hopefully lots of people will support this, and if anybody wants a table then get in touch,” she said.
The Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, praised her colleague for all she did for the town and the community.
“I’d like to thank Clr. Mrs. Brown for everything she does. People on social media like to criticise the town council, but I don’t think that people understand that it is voluntary, we do not get paid,” said the Mayor.
“What Clr. Mrs. Brown does for the De Valence and skate park is all voluntary, and I take my hat off to her!” she added.
The next meeting of the Skate Park Association will take place at 6 pm on Monday, October 1 in the De Valence.
