Sir, Recently my husband and I made a ’flying’ visit to Tenby to celebrate a special birthday.

We had booked a table at a restaurant where we had eaten many times before, but for reasons not known to us, things didn’t go well. After waiting 40 minutes for our pre-ordered starters, we decided to leave.

So feeling rather disappointed and with rumbling tummies, where to go?

Only one place - Fecci’s in Lower Frog Street!

On entering, they looked as though they were closing up, but, no problem, they could cook some fish for us.

Whilst waiting for the fish to cook, our tale of woe unfolded. The staff were so sorry for us that they produced a free bottle of wine to eat with our fish and chips.

We ate outside our hotel on the Esplanade and toasted the special birthday in glorious sunshine, with the best view in the world. It really was the best birthday meal ever.

Many, many thanks to the lovely Fecci staff who turned a disaster into sheer delight. You really were Super Heroes!
