At Pembroke School, yesterday’s (Thursday’s) A-Level results were strong, with an overall pass rate of 99.6 per cent and improved numbers of top grades.

Most students have gained entry to their first choice of university, with only three needing to use the clearing system.

The year group had some exceptionally able students, including two who have gone on to study medicine.

The success rate in the new graded Welsh Baccalaureate was 100 per cent, with an exceptional 99 per cent of these results at grades A* to B.

Headteacher Frank Ciccotti congratulated all students for their hard work in achieving these outcomes.
