The unfriendly weather failed to dampen the generosity of the shoppers who supported the valued South Pembs. Hospital funds last Friday.

Thanks to customers at the local Asda store, the Friends of South Pembs. Hospital received a lot of encouragement at their appeal corner of Asda's busy lobby.

They were able to display information about their activities which help to give much appreciated comfort to patients. Such comforts are not provided by the NHS and range from new televisions in the wards to rehabilitation equipment.

You are able to see their gifts in the hospital gardens and will agree that these are so worthwhile. Look at the sheltered seating, easy-access greenhouse, furniture and flower beds.

You can help The Friends by supporting their coffee morning/table-top sale events, held on the second Tuesday of every month, in Pembroke Town Hall, and don't forget the summer fete in the hospital grounds on Saturday, July 28.

You, your family and friends who have enjoyed the benefits of your local hospital, will know that such generosity as we now report, is well worthwhile.
