Some of the many people who have come to view the St John’s Open Art Exhibition have been asking about Tenby Arts Festival, writes Carol Brinton Thomas.

So apologies have been given (for this has to be arranged months in advance and no one had a crystal ball to see how the covid restrictions would be like by now) and so the stewards have told the enquires about the historic and places of note and the many art studios and galleries and crafts available in so many of our shops.

So, locals and visitors alike are enjoying seeing the array of work on show all over the town with the Tenby warm welcome and in this last week the warm sunshine too.

In the St John’s Exhibition, there are some new participants whose work features different aspects, with some vibrant colours and shapes.

Peoples talents often surprise us, some have painted on wood or on slate, or in geometric designs, there is an array of handmade childrens clothes and some Christmas decorations (yes, Christmas is coming!)

The Raffle Prize this year is a framed original painting of the Newport sailing club, kindly donated by Manorbier artist Margaret McCracken, all the proceeds from the raffle and 20 per cent of any sales will be donated to St. Johns and Cancer Research.

A big thank you to all the artists and craft makers for showing their work and an enormous thank you to the ladies who spent so many hours hanging all the pictures and to the stewards who are giving up their time to sit.

And of course, huge thanks to all who have come in to see the works and for supporting our efforts in raising funds for these charities.

The exhibition continues to be opened each day from 10 am to 5 pm (except Sunday) and finishes on Saturday, October 2.
