A ‘Memory Tea’ is being organised in St Florence for this month to meet and share memories of life in the community.
Through this event which will be held on Saturday, October 26, between 11 am and 2 pm, at the village hall, volunteers are seeking to gather more information about the community, and particularly its recent history, before it is lost in time.
Topics to consider might include historic memories from the area such as ‘what do you recall about important families, and farming life; and refugees during World War II.
Discussions about memories of life in St Florence school and chapel will also be welcomed.
St Florence is fortunate to have ‘St Florence Past and Present’ - a book printed around 1996, while another layer of history was compiled by the late Alan Lesser, but some of the stories on village life are incomplete.
Everyone is welcome to attend, with refreshments provided.
