The Glebe House, St Florence, put the fun into fundraising on Saturday, August 17, as local residents, friends and visitors gathered for an afternoon of music, games and enticing stalls in support of the Church Tower.
The barbecue sizzled, paella simmered, drinks were enjoyed, folk mingled and chatted and children played, as local musicians filled the summer afternoon with the sweet sounds of saxophones, guitars and superb vocals.
Support for the event came in many guises: an abundance of donations from village residents and local businesses; practical help before, during and after the event; superb performances from village musicians; and of course from all those who attended and added to the conviviality of the afternoon.
The organisers would like to thank everyone involved for contributing to this thoroughly enjoyable and successful event, which raised £2,760 for St. Florence Church, as well as generating a wealth of community spirit. The funds raised will be added to monies previously raised through village donations and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
