On a beautiful spring day, the Old Priory Inn was host to the second Spring Into Spring Event.

Organised by Want 2 Work, Launch and Pembrokeshire Communities First, the jobs, training and volunteering fayre brought together 17 organisations to offer advice and information, with residents signing up for a wide range of free training and volunteering opportunities to help increase skills, confidence and qualifications to support those looking for work.

Advice was also given about the recent changes in benefits, and help with finance and budgeting.

Interview clothing was available courtesy of PATCH, to help boost appearance and confidence for job interviews, whilst the free refreshments provided by the Old Priory Inn Cafe were much appreciated!

Residents were also given a free raffle ticket for prizes which included donations from the Co-op and Jabberwocky Crafts in Pembroke Main Street.

The Old Priory Inn Community Project offers a range of community provisions, including a café, youth club, dance classes and public-use computers. Support is also available there on Monday mornings from Plant Dewi, Tuesday mornings from Want 2 Work and PATCH, and on Thursday mornings Haven Credit Union are present.

Want 2 Work is a programme designed jointly between the Welsh Assembly Government and Jobcentre Plus Wales. Its aim is to get people into work. The programme can help through career guidance, training, support in overcoming barriers into work, Jobsearch, In Work Support.
