Auctioneers ‘Lockdales’ will be holding specialist valuation days across venues in Pembrokeshire this month.
There will be valuations for the following types of collectables: Coins, stamps, banknotes, jewellery, watches, silver, gold, documents, books and maps (pre-1900), medals and militaria also including swords, bayonets and de-activated/antique weapons, cigarette-cards, postcards, pre-1960 sports programmes and tickets and scientific instruments.
Members of the public will have the option, if they wish, to consign their goods to be sold in a future public auction, or they may request a cash purchase offer from Lockdales themselves.
Valuations at these events will be provided entirely free of charge without any obligation to sell.
High quality illustrated auction catalogues from previous sales will be given away on a complimentary basis in order for the public to get a better idea of the services we provide.
Lockdales has been holding six auctions per year since 1997, and has grown to become one of the UK’s leading specialist auction houses, with an annual turnover in excess of two million pounds.
Two valuations will take place on Wednesday (September 18)?- at Tenby’s Fourcroft Hotel, between 6 and 8 pm; and earlier in the day at Pembroke Town Hall on Main Street, between 11.45 am and 3.45 pm.
There will be further valuations on Thursday (September 19) at The Plas Hyfryd Hotel in Narberth, between 10 am and 2 pm; and at The Lord Nelson Hotel, 9 Hamilton Terrace, Milford Haven, between 6 and 8 pm.
“We have conducted hundreds of valuation days all over the UK, and we often turn up some very rare and interesting items from the public at these events,” said a spokesperson for Lockdales.
“One item in particular, a unique gold coin from the Dark Ages, was brought along to a previous event.
“The owner was not aware of the value of it and we later sold it on its owners’ behalf at auction for over 19 thousand pounds,” they added.
