St. John's Parish Church, Pembroke Dock, recently held a Jamie Oliver party in St. John's Community Hall, to raise much-needed funds for the church.
The event was organised by the vicar's warden, Elaine Thomas, and it proved to be a very entertaining and enjoyable night. Jamie wasn't there in person -shame!, but his party hostess showed samples of Jamie's ingenious cookware and gadgets, and via DVD, Jamie showed his recipe for BBQ beer butt chicken, whereby you sit a suitably spiced chicken on a partly drunk beer can (teetotallers can use coke) and cook on the BBQ or in the oven.
Mouth-watering refreshments for the evening were provided by the ladies of the church.
Why not come and join us on Friday, August 3, when at the same venue there will be a fashion show and a demonstration on how to make a fascinator. Tickets, at the door, £2.50, to include tea/coffee and cakes. Organiser is Joan Lathe.
